Carriage Books for the Driven

The drivers in STRIDE are among the most determined people I’ve ever met.  They truly are “driven,” if you will. Just the thought of loading and transporting conveyances to an event, let alone horses, would be enough to make most people pull the covers over their heads on a show morning, but not the dedicated drivers of STRIDE! They are grit personified.
That’s why I’m issuing a challenge to you, alone or in collaboration with another reinsman: WRITE A BOOK!  I’d be happy to lend a hand with editing...
I don’t claim to know anything about driving, but I do know the available books on driving seem scanty at best.  Nevertheless, I have compiled a list for you to explore while you are sheltering in place.
  • Carriage Driving: A Logical Approach Through Dressage Training- Heike Bean and Sarah Blanchard
  • Judging Carriage Driving- Sallie Walrond
  • The Essential Guide to Carriage Driving- Robin Cuffey
  • Putting to a Pair- Caroline Douglas and Sophie Adkins
  • Competition Carriage Drive- Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
  • Sports Driving: A Complete Guide to Horse Driving Trials- Amanda Saville
  • Competition Carriage Driving on a Shoestring- Jimmy Johnson, Jinny Johnson
  • Driven Dressage with the Single Horse- Sandy Rabinowitz
  • Driving Do’s and Don’t’s- Sallie Walrond
  • On the Box Seat- A Manual of Driving- Tom Ryder
  • Driving Questions Answered- Sallie Walrond
Now, start working on that manuscript.
